18 May The Various Functional Aspects of Asphalt Batching Plant
The asphalt batching plant is a type of machine that can be used for coming up with hot mix asphalt (HMA) that can be used for paving the roads. Using a plant like this, it is possible to mix together the bitumen with the aggregates so that the perfect hot mix asphalt material can be produced for paving purposes. The aggregates can be either a combination of materials of various sizes and grades or one single material. You can also combine high-quality aggregates with specific types of mineral filler materials to get the desired effect. There are mainly two different types of asphalt plants that are available in the market. These are the batch mix plants and the continuous mix plants. Both are the same in functionality but they differ in the way in which they make the asphalt.
Before the asphalt batching plant can start working on the production of the asphalt mix, it is important that you put the aggregates in the feeder containers. The operation of asphalt batch mix production comes to an end when the hot mix asphalt product is finally released in the truck. At first, the unheated-crude aggregates are bolstered and introduced into the receiving containers of the asphalt batching plant cold aggregate feeder. The process in which this bolstering of materials takes place should be done as per the sizes of the materials. The flow of the aggregates is managed by the cool feeder gates present on the individual receptacles. After this step has been carried out, the aggregates are transferred to the drying drum by a charging conveyor.
The drying drum is equipped with a powerful burner which helps to heat and dry the aggregates efficiently. There is also a tool for settling the dust particles called the secondary dust collector. This can help the asphalt hot mix plants to control the dust particles easily. The primary dust collector always works together with an auxiliary dust collector which serves as a potent bag filter. The aggregates are first heated in their drum and moved to tower units through the use of a bucket lift. There is also a screening unit at the upper end of its tower unit which has a multi-layer structure. The screens help to filter and screen the hot aggregates so that the materials are separated before they are put into the multiple receptacles according to their sizes. As there are multiple separate hot receptacles that come with the asphalt batching plant, separating the materials of the aggregates becomes a lot easier.
After the aggregates are differentiated and sorted to be kept at the different receptacles, the weights of these aggregates are measured. The manner in which the aggregates are going to be released in the mixing unit is going to depends on the weight of the aggregates. The aggregates will then be combined with the bitumen and the filler materials. The ease of use ensured by the asphalt batching plant systems makes them an indispensable tool for making roads.
